Phoenix, Arizona is one of the fastest growing cities in the US. Spreading over the beautiful Sonoran Desert is the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan area, or Valley of the Sun, so named due to the city's 300 days or more of sun each year.
A popular resort for those escaping frozen winters farther north, the downtown district of Phoenix is a hive of sporting and arts entertainment, while just to the north is Biltmore, otherwise known as the Camelback Corridor, home to towering skyscrapers, upscale Phoenix shopping centers and excellent restaurants. Neighboring cities have become quasi-neighborhoods engulfed by Phoenix's urban sprawl and include Mesa, Scottsdale and Tempe. These places are full of great museums and art galleries, lively bars, hip hangouts, luxury resorts and oasis-like golf courses.
